Growth

After weaning, the calves enter a new environment. During this period, trace minerals support their stress and growth.

Growth: a key stage for cattle farming

As soon as the calf is born, its first years of life consist in growing and developing. From birth, to weaning, to fattening, the bovine will increase its weight exponentially and develop its muscle mass.

Growth, and particularly rapid growth, requires a strong mobilization of reserves and a rising demand for the metabolism of trace minerals, which the cattle have sometimes had difficulty in absorbing in their diet.

A commitment from the entire animal body

The growth of the animal is based on its immunity, the efficiency of its metabolism and the enzymes and the availability of trace minerals which will support all of these functions. Deficiencies can lead to:
Poor fetal development and stunted growth
Less expressed genetic potential
Direct or indirect loss of productivity

Trace minerals to grow

Our 4 trace minerals have an essential role in the growth of the animal and must be available in large quantities for it to be optimal.

Beyond the trace minerals found in food, an injectable supplementation allows the animal to recreate its stocks more quickly and to have better food efficiency.

Increase in Average Daily Gain

in calves at weaning due to an increase in dry matter consumption

Improved growth

even on animals that were initially slightly deficient (2,3)

Improved muscle characteristisr

even after the stress of transport (2,3)

Growth is prepared before calving

It is during the last trimester of gestation that the weight of the fetus will increase by 75% and its length by 50%.
To ensure this growth, the cow will have to meet these operating needs and the needs of her fetus, while its ingestion capacity decreases of 30 to 40%.
In preparation for this step, supplementation with injectable trace minerals will increase the status of the cow which will benefit the calf growth.
